Sky Shivers

Sky’s training as a storyteller started as a child listening to one of his grandmothers telling stories of her family’s life in the early years of the new state of Oklahoma.   Later on, old men down at the feed store on Saturday mornings added their stories of high headed hooky moma cows, stubborn mules, cold back horses and the everyday perils of dealing with cantankerous critters.

His father’s stories of growing up in what had been,
before statehood, an outlaw town on the border line of Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory further fueled his imagination of a kid’s life in the depression era of the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Sky has always shared stories with family and friends.  But starting 30 years ago he began to travel across the Southwest to schools, cowboy gathering and storytelling festivals with a string a of true and pert near true tales.  Welcome to Sky’s world and the stories of his odd and quirky friends and acquaintances as they do battle with life, nature and “stuff” that just ain’t their fault!”
