On this page, you will find storytelling events, workshops, and conferences in Oklahoma or pretty darn near to us. Territory Tellers provides this information to help promote storytelling and does not specifically endorse any of the events listed.

Ongoing: OK, SO: TULSA STORY SLAM

There is a thriving story slam group that meets at the IDL Ballroom in downtown Tulsa once a month for storytelling. The theme is different every month. Go to the group’s Facebook page for more information.

Oct. 13
Wilburton Storytellers & Territory Tellers
Wilburton, White House, Eastern Oklahoma State College campus

This storytelling night will precede the next TT board and festival committee meeting on Oct. 14. Come spend the weekend in Wilburton if you can! All members and potential members invited.

Nov. 17
Wonder City Tellabration
Wonder City Coffee, Locust Grove
6-7 p.m.
Come to the 13th annual Tellabration in Locust Grove, where stories are celebrated. Special guest this year is Choogie Kingfisher.  Kingfisher is a Kituwah-Cherokee storyteller and musician who specializes in flute music and traditional Cherokee myths and legends.

Sept. 15-16
Storyteller Writer’s Conference
Sky Vu Lodge, 22822 N. Highway 71, Winslow, AR
TT member Molly Lemmons, storyteller and author, will be a special presenter at this conference, which is located at Winslow, south of Fayetteville.

Territory Tellers Winter Retreat
Lake Murray Lodge
The 9th annual TT Winter Retreat will be a fun, relaxing weekend of sitting around the fireplace listening or telling a tale. Room reservations should be made prior to Dec. 25, 2017, to receive the $99 rate per night. Call 800-257-0322 to make reservations.

Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival

Oklahoma City
The 12th annual storytelling festival of the Territory Tellers will return to Oklahoma City. The special guest and featured teller will be the magnificent Elizabeth Ellis, who will be telling stories and also conducting a workshop. Check back on this website for details as they become available.
