There is a thriving story slam group that meets at the IDL Ballroom in downtown Tulsa once a month for storytelling. The theme is different every month. Go to the group’s Facebook page for more information.

Come listen to some seasoned storytellers, along with RSU students, tells stories of all kinds. Very entertaining and for the whole family.

Adults Sharing Stories
Choctaw Library, Choctaw
2:00-4:00 p.m.

The Choctaw Library and the WayWord Tellers are hosting an opportunity for people 13 years-old to adult to share stories at an adult level.  If you have a story you would like to tell, or you would prefer to listen to the stories presented come to the Adults Sharing Stories program.  To accommodate as many tellers as possible during the time available your presentation should be 5-10 minutes long.  This includes any introduction and other comments you want to make as well as the story itself.  The stories can be personal, folk/fairy, tall tales (aka Lies), historical, or slice of life type.  They must be suitable for school age children to hear.  Members of The WayWord Tellers and Territory Tellers will present stories also.  Light refreshments will be served.  Co-sponsors are the Choctaw Library and WayWord Tellers.  For more information contact Shanna Shadoan or Dana Beach at the Choctaw Library, 405-390-8418 or Rosemary Czarski,

Wonder City Wordfest
Wonder City Coffee, Locust Grove
The celebration of words in all their forms comes again to the Wonder City in 2018. Wonder City Wordfest replaced ROMPfest in 2017 as a festival that continues to celebrate poetry but also wordplay in all areas. The festivities take place at Wonder City Coffee in downtown Locust Grove, with visits to ROMP during the day. Special Guest: Poet Morris McCorvey. For more information, visit the ROMP Website.

Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival

The 12th annual storytelling festival of the Territory Tellers will return to Oklahoma City. The special guest and featured teller will be the magnificent Elizabeth Ellis, who will be telling stories and also conducting a workshop. Check back HERE for details as they become available.
