Jerry Young

JerryYoungI grew up in Oklahoma among a large pioneer family. I was blessed to be surrounded by storytellers. I graduated form Oklahoma Baptist University. I taught High School Speech and English in Ardmore before moving to Texas where I taught Speech and Theatre. I completed my career as director of instruction and curriculum in Kaufman TX. After retiring, I continued to teach with the Dallas Community College District. I did a lot of community and professonal theatre plus some TV and film work.

I have been telling stories for a long time, but my real storytelling career began in 1991. I am a member of Territory Tellers, Tejas Storytelling Assn., National Storytelling Network, East Fork Storytellers and Afficionados, and Dallas Storytelling Guild. I have released three CD’s: Texas Ghostales and Mysteries, Texian Tales, and Growing Up Young.
