ABOUT this year’s festival:

The Spirit of Oklahoma Storytelling Festival will have a new focus this year.

Members of the Territory Tellers will be the featured tellers this year.

For evening performances, TT members will be invited to tell.  On Saturday there are four Story Swap storytelling topics:

  • Personal and Family Stories
  • Fairy Tales, Traditional, Fractured or Twisted
  • Folk Tales from Around the World
  • Whoppers, Lies and Tall Tales

All TT members who want to participate should bring stories ready to tell in one or more of these categories.  At the on-site registration table, a sign-up sheet will be provided for each topic area.

A strict time limit will be enforced, and stories must not exceed 10 minutes.

The Best of the Best from the four story categories will be  invited to tell at the Saturday night concert.

There will also be two Table Telling opportunities, one on Friday and one on Saturday.  Table-Telling is an opportunity for beginning storytellers to share stories or for more experienced tellers to tell a new story.

No tellers will be paid this year. The festival will provide the opportunity to renew our love and excitement of storytelling and share this renewal with one another.

Please come and participate in a weekend banquet of storytelling.
